Frequently Asked Questions

Bellemara Distillery is BYOF. We do not operate a kitchen here at the distillery but you can bring your own food, order in, or arrange a caterer. Please click here for a list of our favorite local caterers. No heating other than catering tins with sterno candles is allowed. Food cannot be prepared on site. You are not permitted to book a private food truck, though you can contact a truck that is already scheduled by Carriage Farm to see if they can provide food for your event.

No. There is no noise separation between your party and the rest of our tasting room so you cannot play your own music. We typically have a jazzy lounge vibe playlist playing and we can turn the volume up or down in the lounge on request.
-
A bar minimum, or minimum spend, is simply an order amount to let you use the space for free. As long as your group orders the minimum amount in drinks there are no additional fees. If your group orders less than the minimum, the difference is added on to your tab so you'd end up paying the minimum amount. We will not take orders above the minimum without your approval and the event can switch to a cash bar once the minimum is met.

Yes! Some decoration of the space is allowed. Tie-on or table top decorations work really well. You will be able to access the space 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time so please plan your vision accordingly. Nothing is allowed to be attached to the walls, ceiling, windows, wires, or sprinkler pipes.

Underage persons are allowed ONLY when accompanied by a parent or guardian. They must remain with your party at all times and obviously cannot drink alcohol. Children do count towards the total number of people allowed at your event.

If you are renting the entire second floor lounge, you are allowed to bring your own beer and wine. It must be packaged on arrival which means no open containers, including glasses of beer from Flounder Brewing Co. next door. (You can bring in their 4 packs of cans though). You must provide all of the accessories for whatever beverage you bring (openers, glassware, ice, ice buckets, coolers, etc). All leftover alcohol must be removed from the site at the conclusion of your event. Please note you are responsible under the event contract for any damage to the space which includes wine stains, water damage from leaking coolers, etc. Bellemara reserves the right to stop anyone showing signs of intoxication from continuing to drink. No drinking games of any kind are permitted.

Unfortunately we do not allow dancing or dance floors. Our space is fairly small and we are set up for cocktail style mingling parties, not for dancing or a club environment.

There is ample parking on Carriage Farm and all guests must park in marked parking spaces. The paved lot immediately to the right after turning on Clerico Lane is available, as is the rear lot. All of the parking connects so there is no need to try to U-turn in the middle of the lots!

Absolutely no smoking or vaping is permitted inside Bellemara, on the patio, or within 25 ft of the building. Anyone found smoking in or around the building or on the patio will be asked to leave. Carriage Farm only allows smoking at the smoking gazebo located around the rear of the distillery. Any member of staff will be happy to direct smokers to the approved location. Drinks may not be carried to the smoking location.

The closest major hotel is the Bridgewater Marriott, a quick 20 minute Uber/Lyft away. We have a special room rate arranged for Bellemara guests if you book your room here.
